I purchased the bike in the hopes it would be OK. I used to own a Baja mini bike 2 cycle motor and actually this bike is about the same speed I think. It is quick for a little guy. I love this thing. I wrecked on it once already and its sturdy. The bars aren't bent, the motor didn't get loose or nothing else. My Baja I wrecked the first time and the rim bent, the bars bent and yeah it was bad. This little guy totes me around like nothing and I'm 175lbs which is over the suggested weight limit. The wheels don't bow though I'm good lol. The takeoff is slow, real slow...But I understand cause I'm fat. But other than that top speed is quick, I don't know how fast yet but it is nice. I use this bike 1 mile to school everyday and it starts up great and idles super good. Initially it would want to stall out but it needs that break in period. Don't worry adjusting the chain break it in first it will loosen up. Just open the crate and break her in it's fun...
After 11 hours of use motorbike would not start and spark cable need to be replaced on 22 hour of use motorbike engine broke beyond repair. If you want to throw your money away- go ahead and buy it.
The motovox mbx10 comes with a engine that has a known defect and motovox won’t stand behind there product, do your research and you will find countless accounts of customers with the same issues(broken crankshaft, won’t start, etc....).please don’t waste your money on this mini bike.....
Ran for a couple of hours, The bike keeps cutting off. This is a piece of junk. Not worth your money!
I bought this for my son at sears over 5 years ago! I thought it was junk and figured he would get a couple of weeks out of it, 5 years later and it still won't die. I have even had to replace the rear tire twice since it has so many miles.
The bike is rather solid in the frame, the engine is rather weak and could see that many people would have issues. We broke it in nice and easy and did the proper maintenance and it sure has lasted. Could I see where there would be quality issues? you bet, its a motor bike for under $400.
Bottom line, if you are not handy in the garage or ever owned or mainained your own mini-bike, dirt bike, lawn mower, lawn tractor, STAY AWAY. If you need to put gas in and not worry, do maintenance, clean a carburetor, you need to spend +$2000 and buy a scooter or a real dirt bike. But, if you are handy, its worth a gamble I did and the little bike keeps going.
One other thing, this has been a hit over the years and three of his friends have one now. No engine failures, only minor maintenance required. Do I doubt that others have had problems. NO, but I would guess half of the people with engine or starting troubles didn't read the manual, don't do the proper maintenance and the other half recieved the 10% with bad motors.
Great starter bike for the younger ones, but rather small for the bigger children, however my six foot three hundred pound husband rode it with no problems. and he loved it.
We bout this 2 Christmases ago for our middle son. It is still running strong, never had an issue with it. All 3 of my sons ride it (ages running from 6 at the time to 11 now). we can gouvern the speed according to who is riding it. I would recomend this to ANY parent! Lots of fun!
