We prepare it before we go to bed, and the coffee is ready when we awaken in the AM. Glad we purchased it.
I make one pot of coffee a day. I am not an excessive coffee drinker. When I bought this I was upgrading from a twelve dollar pot that I'd had for the last ten years. Well, within the second week of using it things started to go wrong. The coffee pot started making that loud sucking noise when it is inhaling more air than water right from the beginning of the brew. So for two months I had to wait for the longest time to get any coffee as it barely made a cup within twenty minutes of this loud and irritating process. But I am a patient person. Now, two months later, it won't suck up any water at all. Goodbye thirty bucks. Hello Black and Decker, you will now be getting my business.
I have a slightly older model (ftx43, not the ftx43-2np), but the function is identical, just a lately different display and older logo. I've got is used about a year and a half ago and it has held up great. It makes really good coffee! My only gripe is the carafe design, and how it's hard to get out the quarter of a cup. It's a minor annoyance and the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5.
Perfect in saving money on coffee, time and very easy to set up program. My husband has hot coffee ready every morning for his 5 a.m. and my 7 a.m. wake up time.
So far this is a good choice. Using only spring water and good brand of coffee (Hawaiian blend), makes great tasting coffee. I like having the clock feature in the base, haven't tried the pre-programmed feature. The coffee works is easy to clean too. Hope it lasts a long time. Bought it at a great price due to Sears Free cash offer.
It's a coffee pot! It brews coffee! I like the delay brew feature.
