Had a little trouble assembling it.
I purchased from Sears, and delivery team was great. They came on time and placed unit where I wanted it. The instruction manual and parts layout was very good. When the unit was put together, I noticed it was rather noisy, even at low speed of 1. Approaching 3mph and above, it had a loud whiny hum that just got louder. I called Nordic Track customer service and they advise to remove treadmill motor cover to aid with troubleshooting. I hang up and remove cover. I call back and wait about 15 minutes and tech asked a few questions and I turned unit on so he could listen and advise. He immediately determined it was a bad motor, and would order a new one to be shipped to me. I would have to replace it. Note: Unit is brand new but I do not have extended warranty. The following day, ICON emailed me requesting pics and video of motor while off and on the treadmill. I uploaded the requested videos. Now I am waiting for a new motor, and will update this review after motor is replaced. I am giving one star at this time, because of the extremely loud motor and lack of confidence in this product. The treadmill was replacing a compact treadmill which I used for 5 years-and that was never noisy like this. Very unhappy.
Sometimes when I turn on it starts to incline increase and I can't stop it. When it's in the maximum and stops I can decrease it. In the Manual doesn't say how can I interrupt it.
This will be the only brand I will ever buy! This is a great investment
Machine seems sturdy but there is no real instruction as to how it works. I previously had a cheaper treadmill that lasted over 12 years. It was simple to operate as it had programs that you just hit one button and it ran on its own with the incline, speed operating and all you had to do was to walk or run as each program is preset. I figured by getting a better machine I would have something better. I can make the NoricTrack run but I have to select speed, incline and time manually as I workout. Had I known this machine did not have a number of preset workouts, I would have bought a cheaper one that did. Not much instruction as to how it operates and evidently no one else has figured it out as no one has a video on its operation either. Disappointed.
Simply not personally impressed
I purchased my Nordic Track treadmill in part because of the warranty which explicitly provides in-home service the first year of ownership. I paid extra to have the product assembled by the seller. My treadmill emits a loud squeak from the motor area and NT customer service advises that the motor could be faulty and require replacement. They also categorically refuse to come to my home to repair the product; rather they insist I have to take it apart -'troubleshoot' - and determine the problem before they will consider action of any sort. NOT what the warranty promises.
