I tested out several other brands/models before ultimately settling on this one. Based on a few negative reviews below and elsewhere of the C900 Pro, I was somewhat hesitant about setup and durability. As noted in multiple reviews by others, setup is a somewhat long process. However, the instructions are very clear and the setup was very smooth. After 2 - 3 hours, my treadmill was up and running. I have now had the treadmill for almost 1 month. I have had zero problems with the treadmill and I have been genuinely pleased with my purchase. I particularly like the cushioning which has reduced joint pain from jogging (as compared to some minor joint pain I have felt jogging on asphalt previously). The fan is well positioned to keep me cool while I jog. I appreciate the built-in speakers with ample volume as I can hook them up to my iPhone and avoid having headphones on while I jog. I'm not sure how accurate the heart rate monitor is, but at a minimum it gives me a feel for where my heart rate generally is. I have noticed that the belt speed tends to naturally speed up a little at the full 15% incline. It is not overly noticeable while jogging, but I have found it hard to maintain a walking speed at the 15% incline. However, by reducing the incline to 12%, I have noticed no such problems and have been able to maintain a walking speed at the 12% incline. I have really liked this treadmill. It has fully met my expectations and I would recommend it to my family and friends who are looking for a treadmill in the $1,000 range. I rated it 4 stars (instead of 5) because of the limited time I have owned it.
Extremely difficult to assemble, screws are cheaply made and break, some pieces do not line up, and some screws are not even long enough for their job. I am very unhappy, I thought I was purchasing a quality piece of equipment, but ended up being diappointed with this Nordic Track. And Sears customer service and extended warranty plan were less than helpful. Save your money!
This is a nice treadmill, it's quite large and works for the purpose of running while inside my house. It is missing a few bells and whistles, such as overall and current pace. I have printed out a pace chart with equivalent MPH and taped it to the front of the mill. The fan is a nice little feature but don't expect it to be super strong. Lots of room in the cup holder area for water bottles, phone, etc. It is a little squeaky and loud when running, drives my family bonkers. Overall I am relatively pleased with it. Might upgrade to a higher quality one some day.
I have had my 900 pro for almost 2 years. I bought it based on recommendations of 2 friends and online reviews. I bought the extended warranty (luckily) through Sears. I don't know if my problems are because of the unit itself or because of the service company. That's why I've given it the benefit of 1 star.
The first year seemed good. I don't use it much, but my wife and son do. The few times I ran on it it seemed really good. I had the service company come out for a yearly lube. There was also a squeak in the springs. Easy.
The problems started after that. Soon, the walking belt started slipping to the point of making the unit dangerous to use. They came out and replaced the motor belt, saying it had stretched. Again, easy. Soon, it started slipping again. This time they ordered a new motor, new belt, and new walking belt. They blamed the motor belt for having grease on it, they thought the walking belt might have stretched because they tightened it too tight, and they didn't really think the motor was the problem but ordered it anyway.
So, they came to install everything. They started with the motor belt. No help. They then replaced the motor, and decided everything was fine. They didn't use the new walking belt. I guess it did seem better... Until a couple months later. Then it started to slip again and the motor was squealing.
The 2nd motor apparently had bad brushes, so they installed a 3rd motor and another drive belt. This time the tech (their most experienced) spent a lot of time adjusting the walking belt, speed sensors, etc. He pronounced it good. But I'm still not convinced it is back to where it was when it was new. The people using this are about 150 pounds and it sure seems to slow down quite a bit with every step. It is nowhere close to the ones at my health club for power. It definitely is not as smooth as walking on the sidewalk.
So, almost 2 years, 3 motors, and 3 drive belts later I can't recommend this unit. But, it could be that their service company doesn't know what they are doing. Either way, I'm not happy with my purchase. I know there are lots of great reviews, so maybe I just got a lemon.
I bought this treadmill six months ago and have averaged about 2 miles a day. I weighed 280 pounds when I started and reliability was a concern I had going into my purchase. I have had zero issues. The treadmill is very quiet. The shock absorber system has really helped in avoiding shin splints that I had encountered on hard surfaces. All features continue to work, but one improvement that could be made is the ability to adjust the fan direction.
Between diet and the treadmill I have lost over 75 lbs. I have been very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.
We bought the C900 pro a few months ago. The day I put it together, it didn't work. None of the controls on the panel worked. It wouldn't even light up. NT sent me a new control panel and everything worked fine for 2 months. Today, I came home from work and only 3 of the buttons work on the panel and the pulse sensors on the handles work, but the incline and speed buttons on the handles don't. It seems that the control panel is messed up again, but it is after hours at NT. Don't be a fool like me. Buy another brand. NT has a reputable name, but crappy products.
I am a treadmill enthusiast and literally wore out my fourteen year-old treadmill. I researched extensively before making my decision on which treadmill to purchase. The C900 Pro was my choice. Features are outstanding and I especially like the speed & incline hand controls as well as the wireless heart monitor. I read where some reviewers didn't like the fan. For me, the fan is perfect and I appreciate being able to choose low or high. The other factor that I really like about this treadmill is my workout. Considering that I am doing the same amount of time and incline between my old treadmill and this new treadmill (speed technology being different between the two but I'm going as fast as I was before), I am getting a much better calorie burn. "Awesome" is an understatement. I highly recommend this treadmill and want to add one more tidbit of information: My fourteen year-old treadmill was made by THIS company. I don't know about you but for me..THAT is quality craftsmanship
