Okay, this is a follow-up to my initial review on this product and it is my time now to be fair. My wife wanted a treadmill for Christmas and the good folks at sears told me to wait until after Christmas to get the C950 from NordicTrack. I have seen several hit and miss reviews on this product, but for the price, I thought I would take the chance. I went to the store, checked it out and the salesman was a true professional giving me his honest opinion about the product. I took his advice and got the C950 on sale, free delivery, paid assembly, and got the three year extended service plan (and boy was I glad I got it). So, Sears delivered the treadmill, set it up, and got it running to my wife?s liking? No problem. However, I get on the treadmill about a week later and notice that the machine was very unstable, the control panel was not securely fastened, and worst of all?One of the speakers was not working and I was able to see that the technician just capped the wire with foil thinking that I would just live with one working speaker. WRONG!!! I contacted Sears and was a little upset telling them to make this right or I was going to deliver the machine back to their front door and get a refund. After calming down and some apologies were exchanged, SEARS had a technician out in a couple of days, re-assembled the machine, and made sure that EVERYTHING was operational before they went out the door. I have been using the C950 consistently for almost two months and I have to say that it is a decent treadmill. There are better treadmills out there to have, but for the money, the C950 to me is the best out there dollar for dollar. The C950 is durable, has good tread length, and also has good pre-set workouts even if you chose not to get an I-Fit membership. After the initial, mess up, I have to say that I am satisfied with my purchase and I hope the C950 holds true as a solid treadmill for future use. I just want to stress to inquiring buyers for this treadmill, if you get this treadmill, do the following: Get it ON SALE and do not pay the listed price, GET THE FREE DELIVER or FREE ASSEMBLY. Sears will work with you on one or the other for free and you may have to pay for one, but DO NOT PAY FOR BOTH. Finally get the extended service plan, I have found by doing this, Sears will get out to your home a **** of lot faster that NordicTrack. Get the extended service plan?If you don?t, you are taking a gamble. By doing all the above, you?ll find that you will have paid the listed price anyway, but even the listed price is decent and you will be getting the other things (stated above) included that will ensure you made a good purchase giving you some peace of mind. Good luck.
I've built houses and furniture for a living. I've worked as a mechanic. But never have I had to assemble something this irritating. WAY too many steps that I've never had to do before with a treadmill. Next to impossible to get pieces to fit together. You will screw/unscrewscrew virtually every piece. You will go crazy doing this. For HOURS. You will swear more than Goodfellas. If you buy, pay somebody to assemble it!
At such a low price, I was a little concerned that this would be a "cheap" treadmill. However, it is not! I love it! It is very durable.
This treadmill is defective. It picks up speed on its own when you set the incline above 12. A tech looked at and said it should stop after 100 miles. The floor model did it as well and the next model up. Now the display speed is off. I lowered my incline from 8 degrees to 1 at a speed of 3mph and then the machine cut speed to 1.5 mph but still displayed 3mph. I wouldn't buy another NordicTrack product
Very pleased with our treadmill purchase. We went with this model because my wife and I both run and needed something a little sturdier. In addition, I weigh over 200 pounds so I needed it to withstand that force. Our runs have been very smooth. No problems with the instructions, but definitely benefited from having two people present to put it together.
assembly was easy but takes some time. The display is simple and informative.
No rollers under the rear of the base so when you raise the incline the poor quality rubber wants to keep it from raising. The glue used to hold the rear rubber under the base had already come unglued before i even had a chance to use the machine. I had to use painters tape to cover the rubber to let the base move more freely. If you raise the incline past 12 the belt speeds up on its own and you have to grab the handles to keep from falling off of the rear. Then there is the fan, which does put out a good amount of air but is so noisy that you would have to yell to the person next to you.
Do Not Buy this treadmill !!!
