This review focuses on acquisition and initial quality/performance, as it will take several months to put this product through its paces. We ordered this at our local store and it arrived sooner than quoted, with pick-up efficient as usual for this location. Unless you have two strong guys, I'd suggest using a moving dolly. It was well-packed. Assembly took a couple hours. I suggest using a ratchet and cordless drill (with torque limiter since some screws go into plastic) to speed the process and prevent forearm cramps. Instructions are good--only a couple minor omissions but nothing a little common sense won't see. The hardware is shrink-wrapped on a single paperboard sheet with clear identification and the instruction step number in which each is used--very helpful! Once assembled, the unit has worked well. We don't use the iFit programs, etc. We just want a good, solid unit with good range of speed and incline, smooth operation and easy-to-use primary controls. This treadmill runs smoothly down to very slow speeds up to running speed. Noise is much lower than our older ProForm. Only thing I don't really love about it is the fan path blows high--it will hit all but NBA stars in the face/head, not core. But that is not a big deal for us since we use a larger floor fan when we run on the treadmill, anyway, and these small treadmill fans always make more noise than air. The unit is easy to raise/lower with the locking strut. I have no complaints so far.
Just got it delivered and noticed one speaker and left side of console not working. Called delivery services and they expect me to keep this machine and call my warranty service provider and have a certified technician come out to repair it. VERY unsatisfied.
Ordered May 22nd. I paid extra for assembly. They assembled incorrectly. Pieces starting flying off first time I used it. Said would deliver new one three weeks later. When they took it out of box was crushed. Three weeks later (yesterday) brought another one that was damaged. Now saying will be two more weeks. Over two months they have had my money and I have nothing!!! Sears refuses to escalate. May be greatest treadmill ever but don't buy it here!
Had a 1.75 HP treadmill prior to getting this one, 3.2 HP guarantees the belt will not stutter when I'm on it.
Buyer beware, on the order page, I noticed the Shop Your Way notification said $133 bonus points with purchase, to be added after delivery, was looking forward to having a nice bonus toward my next purchase, the little detail not mentioned until after my purchase was that $33 was added to my account to use now, the remaining $100 would be added to my account at $10 per month for the next 10 months, knowing this would not have changed my mind on my purchase, just felt there was a little bit of deception on the delivery of the points.
My wife & I love Sears. Loyal shoppers for over 30 yrs. We bought this NordicTrack treadmill nearly a week ago. Brought it home on a Saturday afternoon. 3 hrs. assembling on Sat. and 4.5 hrs. Sunday after church. Plugged it in and Bang! Pop! Grinding noise! Belt never moved one inch! Raised it up and checked the base. Metal was sticking through. It looks like the two vertical arms welded to the frame work were welded in a crooked manner. Had to disassemble most of it to get it through our 36" front door. What? Rented a U-Haul 10' foot van $66.00 and returned it on July 4th. Never will we own a NordicTrack product again. Sears was great and refunded our money. If you buy this after reading this, you were warned!
I use this treadmill every weekday Aside from the fact that it's way too long, there are two more things that rankle me: 1. I unplug the machine each day once I'm done exercising...Then, the next day, I plug it in and when I put the little plastic (with the magnet) fob into the slot, the machine automatically raises itself to incline 15, then goes all the way down to zero...Every day 2. If I walk away from the machine for a couple of minutes after having been on it (using it), the machine will reset itself to all zeros, losing whatever distance, calories, etc. it kept track of.
Not sure what's great...What is not great: 1. the head board is sorta high for shorter people who want to watch their TV while exercising...2. The length of the treadmill is ok, the width is not 3. for short legged people (like me), if they want to hang onto the bar, the feet occasionally hit the grey cover (the one with the Nordic Track logo) 4. The softness of the treadmill is not really soft, even at its "bounciest" setting
