Awesome machine

So simple to set up, took about 15-20 minutes once unpacked. It's a little heavy and bulky getting it in the house but after that it's a breeze!! If you have to go up or down stairs you'll need at least 3 people due to it's weight (200 lbs) and length. Very quiet and easy to use!! Start out real easy, 2.5 minutes on resistance level 1 was all I could handle at first, I'm up to 4.5 minutes 4 days later, resis. level 2. Definitely well worth the money!!!

Not a good buy

I was surprised to see so many good reviews when the one I purchased had a multitude of issues. From day 1 it was very bouncy. I had several family members agree. I think its because its only an 18" stride. The one I replaced it with is 20" stride and I dont have that problem. If you are under 5 feet tall maybe you wont notice but it was very aggravating for me. The display was completely inaccurate. It said it took 8 minutes to complete 1/4 of a mile at a speed of 5.5. This is crazy, 32 minutes to do a mile! It was very smooth at first but after a couple weeks I felt it tugging and heard a grinding sound. Needless to say it went back. Never again will I purchase exercise equipment without trying it out first.

Great value

I bought this as a request from my wife. I have used it a few times, but she really likes it. The different resistances and fold up design make it versatile.

Disappointed with my Purchase...

|

Purchased this item Sept. 2014 because it had received the best reviews and was on sale for a great price. Once received, my husband was able to get this machine set up within an hour. Well, we had the machine only a couple of weeks, and used it a handful of times, before a WELD had SNAPPED near the wheel (We are well under the 300lb. weight limit). Unfortunately, we have not been able to use it since then. We are still waiting to have it repaired 3 months later. Overall, the few times we were able to use the machine, it was "Fair." There's nothing really that special about it, it did what it needed to. The display is nothing to write home about, and the so-called iPod compatibility is a joke. The ONLY thing it has going for it (and why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1), is that its a SpaceSaver model with transport wheels. Looking back, we should have spent the extra $200 to get something a lot better. It's a shame we spent $500 on an elliptical and ended up with an expensive coat rack.

Poor Assembly... Much Troubleshooting Out of Box

|

The item was initially fairly easy to set up. It took 15-20 minutes to go through the 7 steps for assembly.

Unfortunately, I encountered 2 major issues immediately.

#1, the unit did not power up when plugged in. The console did nothing. I resolved the issue by unscrewing the console and quickly noticed that the wires weren't even connected. After plugging them in and reattaching the console, it powered up. But, according to the directions, this step shouldn't have been necessary. Someone on the assembly team screwed up.

#2, the right side of the rear wheel was so badly misaligned that the rim dragged against the side of the unit for a half turn every time it circled around. I disassembled several pieces from the rear of the unit and got a good look inside the wheel chamber, and though I determined the cause of the issue, I did not have the tools necessary (wrenches with very tiny handles?) to loosen the wheel to adjust the alignment. I put the parts back together and figured it wasn't necessarily hurting anything to use the machine in that state, but it is horribly annoying to listen to a distinct rubbing sound every single time the wheel turns.

The unit performs decently enough otherwise, but I would suggest going up another level and spending a bit more money for a higher quality machine. Pretty underwhelming experience from a supposed trusted brand name like Nordic Track.
