ski machine

I first encountered the ski machine at Telemark at the Birkebeiner in about 1977. The inventor was there with the prototype. I've used one as soon as it came on the market and wore out a few. I am 78 and still use it every day and hope to continue to use it a long time. It takes a bit of time to learn to use it if you are not a cross country skier but its the greatest workout of any machine I know.

Poor initial product quality and zero help from support

Although unboxing was a little complex, I had no problems assembling the product. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The provided tools worked fine. However, the upright support has about 3/4" of back and forth play and is a little wobbly side-to-side as well. Also, the 45-degree bevel on one of the skis has a significant manufacturing/cosmetic defect. The other arrived with nicks along the edge. So overall, the assembled product looks poor and feels wobbly. Yes, I have verified that the bolts and washers are all in the right places. I opened a support ticket over three weeks ago and have not heard back. From reading other reviews, poor support is common from ICON. That's really too bad since Nordictrack used to be a respected brand. Save your money and join a gym.

Workable but not as quality a Nordic as the original.

|

Not nearly the quality of the Classic Pro that I purchased in 1990. The steel is lighter and not as rigid, and the track is made of composite and the original was made of solid wood It is working and doing what I need, but the quality is not the same

I love my Nordic Track Classic Pro

|

I love my Nordic Track Ski Machine. I have very bad knees, lots of arthritis, bone on bone. This ski machine lets me get a great cardio workout without hurting my knees. I can actually say that skiing for me is less painful than walking. Thank you Nordic Track

My old Nordic Track skier was much better

|

This skier is not of the same quality as my old NordicTrack skier that I had for 25 years. That skier was solidly built and had held up for 25 years of almost daily usage. Unfortunately, I do not see this new model lasting as long. It is noisy and not as sturdy as my old one. If it wasn't for a few of the parts finally going bad on my old one, I would still be using it today. The parts are hard to come by for the old one.
