I bought a bunch of these on black friday to put in my basement with cement floors. I set up a work out area that is a little over 200 sq feet as well as a little area in front of the washer and dryer. They were easy to put in and cut to fit. Look great, feel good to walk on, easy to clean. After having lived in the house since last March we got water in the basement right after i started setting up the home gym area. There was about 3 inches of water wall to wall in the basement. We came downstairs and the tiles were floating (totally dry on the top) After pumping the water out and cleaning it etc........we laid the tiles out to dry and they are still fine. Put them all back together. I was really happy they didn't absorb water, even the ones i cut. One thing to be aware of is that if you put something really heavy (like a treadmill) on them it will likely put a hole or permanent dent in the tile
These are terrible for a large area! Poor manufacturing!
6 months ago, purchased multiple packs of these foam tiles to cover a 20’x25’ basement floor. The biggest problem is that the tiles are not identical in size (as much as 1/2" off between tiles). As others have mentioned, this makes it difficult to get the floor to lay flat (becomes more difficult/obvious as multiple packs are used), and there are large gaps between some of the tiles (where a smaller tile is being stretched to fit into to a larger tile).
Also, there are dramatically different shades of gray within a pack, and on some of the tiles, the pattern is not straight.
The floor has buckled and shifted so much in 6 months that I’m in the process of removing all the tiles and trying to relay them.
These are great. I use them in my exercise room, which is upstairs and it cuts down the sound while I am exercising.
Our basement is unfinished. We used the Norsk Foam Flooring around the laundry area and half of the basement. It helped with insulation and noise reduction. It's easy to keep clean. It's helped with our needs. We gave it as a gift to a relative who has had knee replacement to use in his basement where he spends a lot of time working on trains. He loves it as well.
Great product. Easy purchase.
