We bought this tent to go on a family canoe trip. There were 6 of us in the tent we each had our own inflatable mattress. Plenty of space that's what I loved about this tent it is absolutely huge the only problems we had with it the zipper on the door gets caught very easily but if you take it nice and slow instead of trying to hurry it works fine. Love the little awnings that come out over the end Windows it does help to keep the rain out. It also has what they call closets which is actually a nice little place to stuff your clothes and things like that out of the way it's very easy to put up. My husband could put it up by his self. The only other thing that I didn't care for because of the severe humidity the inside of the tent on the walls actually collected a little moisture so I wouldn't put anything up against the sides while camping. But humidity can't be helped. The material is not a canvas it is a nylon and very thin but I think it should serve its purpose as long as you're not rough with it. I would never have paid full price but we got it for half price which it was well worth the money. If it's space you're wanting there's plenty of room for several blow-up mattresses and I've heard a lot of people say they even put a table inside the tent and there is way more than enough room for it the 10th is the size of a double car garage. It comes in a nice carry case which does not take up a lot of room. And it actually folded up nicely to go back inside of the case which many other times I've had once you take it out of the case it's impossible to ever get it back in again but this one works nicely. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a large tent it is worth the money and more than enough space for everyone's needs it is a very tall tent so you have way more than enough room to stand up and get dressed and also has room dividers if you want the privacy from other people. The reason I'm writing this review is because before I ever buy a product I check out the different reviews so I hope this helps all of you out there that are looking for a nice large tent.
This tent is HUGE! I was surprised at how big this thing actually is. For the price, it is a LOT of tent. That being said, I don't think the pole structure of the tent is strong enough to hold this tent in wind and rain. I set it up in my backyard to apply waterproofing and after 3 applications the "closet" things still leaked and there were a few other places that I couldn't get fully sealed. Also, there is no drip protection over the main door, so that if you open the door in the rain, all the rain falls off the roof right into the door. Then, one of the top poles snapped and put a hole in the rain fly. I was so disappointed because I really wanted to like this tent. I really think that the tent is too big for the poles supplied with it. If you are not going to have wind and rain, then this tent is great! Much appreciation goes out to the KMART customer service at my local store. They worked with me to apply the same discounts that I got on this tent to another tent they had in stock. They were very understanding and accommodating. This is why I shop at Sears/Kmart and not other stores, very good customer service. I ended up getting the Northwest Territory Front Porch Tent. I just got it setup, so I can't offer much of a review, but it appears to be more stable and built better than the Homestead.
Here it is October 13, 2018 and I STILL have NOT received.
This tent was a gift from dear friends. We took it camping LaborDay weekend and started to set it up, only to discover it had a 3-4 foot section of seam by the door that didn't get sewn during production. GIANT HOLE! It was from a closing Kmart, so no return, and they had no others for exchange.
We have contacted the manufacturer as instructed using information from the tag sewn into the tent bag. In fact I have emailed and called a BUNCH of times and have yet to get any response at all!!
I blame Kmart as well for doing business with such a shoddy Cambodian company!
I now think I am capable of a review for this tent. I wavered a bit between 3-5 star. I have now had this tent up 3 weeks straight, reading + sleeping in it for fun. 5 times up this summer usually at least 1 week a time. I am in country. Love the size. Inflatable sofa-queen bed in "living room" (for company) camping 2 seat table (kitchen), sleeping cot in other "bedroom". Closets are great, but did have small puddle in 1. It was the 2 days of 5in. rain and storms. The extreme wind did blow small amount of rain under the fly. Might have happened in any large tent? Loved the canopies over windows. Would have suffocated in heat + rain without them. Now a necessity on any large tent whenever. I am 5'6" woman + can put this up myself. I am really enjoying it. I did put extra cover over door in all rainstorms. Kept water out with my multiple ins + outs during storms. I would advise this. Hope this helps. Now off to my tent for fun. Solar-crank radio is nice. Happy camping!
I read all reviews and was a little nervous being we would be out in the woods with no other choice but tent was great! We set up pretty easily and size was wonderful. Room dividers very cool. It did as our luck pour down rain and since we did not have canopy on perfect rain did come in top of tent where there are open screens for air. We learned our lesson and did not leak again. Only real downside is the front door. Zipper gets stuck in flaps so have to go real slow. For the price awesome tent we had a blast!
