I must use my Oster Electric Skillet three or four times a week. It is so convenient to use, and cleans right up, too. Completely immersible, and the non-stick surface is tough enough to stand up to the scrubby side of a Scotch-Brite type scrubber sponge, aka a "scrunge."
I bought this skillet just over two months ago and it did not meet my expectations, despite having good reviews. I have only used it about once per week. I used only soft, non-scratch utensils and hand washed the skillet with a mesh scouring sponge. After little use, it has started to lose it's non-stick coating. As mentioned in a previous review, the surface started getting bumps in the coating. I noticed that some of the coating was in my food. It also cooks unevenly, since the heating element only goes around the edge. For instance, pancakes would have a dark stripe across them. The electric thermostat is poorly marked and it's numbered in 20 degree increments. Makes cooking at 25 degree increments frustrating. I had to guess on the dial where 350 degrees would be, somewhere between 320 and 370.
