After long deliberation and being pet free for five years, we are adopting a blue-tick/ coon hound from the local shelter! Her name is Bella and our resolution is to provide her with a loving home.

Her previous owner died and she's been quite upset but after raising hounds in the past, we are ready do do it again :)

Toys, food, bedding and a kennel and a nice house for outside. That's what I'd need to make her feel like one of the family full of love and affection... now and forever!!

It is a Saturday autumn day in Bennington, VT. You take 3 mile hike up White Rocks trail and drive Route 7 with your family to see the colorful leaves. Fallapalooza is this evening. The kids are excited to show off their costumes, trick or treat at the downtown businesses, like Village Chocolate Shoppe and carve their pumpkins, donated by Hawkins House. You enjoy a meal and seasonal draft at Madison Brewing Co. After dancing to Thriller, don’t forget dessert from The Crazy Russian Girls Bakery.

Independence, MO is my home town. It reminds me of war and peace. Why? Visit three landmarks for the answer. The Harry S. Truman Presidential Library, "Give em Hell Harry...WWII". The Community of Christ (formally R.L.D.S.) Temple, a house dedicated to worship and peace. And finally, the Old Jail on the square. The Old Jail is empty now and seems so peaceful when you visit it.

I remember my first Summer trip to Puerto Rico to meet my future in-laws. I had no idea how to speak or understand Spanish at that time. Prior to our arrival, my fiancé had taught me a phrase that would surely impress his parents, so I was thrilled. I wanted the first impression to be the best. As soon as I met his parents, I spoke the phrase that I learned. They looked at me with a stunned look, then laughed. My fiancé had taught me to say "give me all your money". I wanted to choke him!

Being a single mom of two girls, I don't have the extra money to go on vacation very often. 2 years ago we did a road trip to the Smoky Mountains. None of us have ever seen mountains before so it was such an amazing experience for us. It was such a wonderful experience to hang out with my kids and go hiking and sitting up in the mountains at one of the overlooks and just sit and take it all in. It may not be the extravagant vacation that some go on but to us it was a 5 star trip.

My best summer vacation, I was 9 years old and my parents drove from Indiana to Alaska in a turtle top van. My parents had a love of state parks, KOA camp grounds, photography, and native American history. A good deal of time in Canada crossing most of the providences. The Rocky Mountains seem to go on forever. The glacier fed lakes and rivers were colors brighter than HD. The AlCan highway was terrifying and deserves it's own show on cable.
