I wouldn't purchase either of the optional jewelry care plans you will be offered (heck, I wouldn't purchase the ring from them) - sears is in bankruptcy and will likely be out of business long before the care plan expires .... the care plan will be null/void and you are not likely to receive a refund for it
I wouldn't rely on any sears warranty on any item - I'd also avoid layaway at sears/kmart/syw - I think you'd be much better-off purchasing a ring on layaway from a local jeweler or a local pawn shop
