This Percolator is a great way to make coffee but there are some things you must know first. To start with pre-ground coffee is NOT for the percolator, you need to grind your own very coarse coffee. The water makes multiple passes through the grounds and develops flavor with time, so starting with pure water is essential. Percolator coffee is to be sipped and enjoyed, take your time and leave the last sip in the cup... any grinds that may have slipped through will find their way to the bottom of the cup, but with the correct grind there shouldn't be any except maybe in the last cup out of the pot. That's part of why it is correct percolator etiquette to pour coffee for your guest first. If all else fails; read the instructions that come with your percolator. There are also websites devoted to helping you learn to love your percolator.
the lid is to hard to get off
Percolators make the best coffee! I would rather have a cup of this coffee than a latte from the coffee shop. I love my percolator. My only complaint is the thermostat broke on my first pot after 2 years so seems like the quality could be a little better. But since we had bought purchase protection and saved the receipt it was replaced for free.
I bought this a few weeks ago and love the product! Makes great coffee. The delivery was well done and arrived on time and in great shape.
Absolutely love this percolator! SO glad I switched, as much healthier than the 'plastic' coffee makers! Works fantastic, easy to clean, fast and makes great coffee. Even bought another one as a back-up. Have used both the pre-ground and beans (grind myself) in it. Haven't had the problems others mentioned in the way of grounds in coffee for us, other than a few specks here and there when using the pre-ground but I don't fill it to the brim so maybe why, Idk. Wouldn't go back to those other type coffee makers for anything now. I'm hooked!
