Purchased this machine in store due to a very, very botched up order of another bike on Sears.com. The local store provided terrific service to not only myself, but others I observed the staff interacting with. The Pro-Form 230 U is solidly built, relatively easy to transport and maneuver. Did you know that Pro-Form and NordicTrack are divisions of the same company? Quality parts and assembly was straightforward and documented well in the manual.. Note: D-Cell batteries are necessary for the console to operate - otherwise an adapter can be ordered. You'll need a 3.5mm - 3.5mm male adapter to plug in your electronic device in order to use the speakers, which were not very impressive as far as sound quality. Eliminating dangling wires from headphones may be the trade-off. There's a heart-rate monitor feature which may not be as accurate as other devices, but nice that it's there. A narrow shelf for a book or iPad/tablet keeps the item secure ahead of the console. Virtually no noise from the flywheel thanks to the silent magnetic resistance feature. In summary, the Pro-Form 230 U is an excellent, feature-packed machine that does not sacrifice quality for price. Change your seat and jump on this cycle- you'll accomplish miles before you know it.
Very low quality! Has been repaired 3 times in 2 months. They want to change the same parts again, really? No way, it is unrepairable!! They will not give me a refund or store credit even though they discouraged me from returning it - they wanted to repair it. 14 steps but can only get up to 5 because of too much tension and belt slipping. Peddle strap is too small for a size 11 men's sneaker. Noisy seat post. Find another bike at an honest store that stands by the written warranty policy. I have talked to at least 8 people at Sears and they all give me phone numbers to call someone else. They say they are the managers on the phone and that there is not anyone else to talk too! DO NOT BUY!
