Kenmore stackable washer/dryer burning electical smell

Several days ago, my Kenmore stackable washer/dryer Model 427.92702200 stopped during a spin cycle. After tinkering with the timer, I realized that the washer kept getting stuck in the drain cycle and eventually began to smell that burning electric motor smell. After doing some online research, I took off the front panel of the washer and noted that there was smoke coming from what I believe is the lid switch. There is actually a melted portion of the lid switch which connects to another microswitch that interacts with the actuator when the washer door is shut. I found videos and explanation for replacing the lid switch on standard kenmore washers but not for stackable washer/dryers. The stackables seem to be less accessible to the wiring which loops to the back side of the machine. I would like 1) some clarification as to whether it sounds like the lid switch is the actual problem 2) Directions on how to access the lid switch in order to replace it 3) Directions on how to "bypass" the lid switch if that would be useful.

I'm thankful for any assistance and pictures are especially useful as I've seen them on other posts.
