Microwave two level cooking
Report This
I bought a Whirlpool microwave Model WMH2175XVS-2 from Sears at clearance without a manual. I don't understand the 2 level cooking with the metal cooking rack that came with the unit. I always thought you couldn't use metal for microwave cooking. Is this a special type of metal? Please help clarify for me and I would really appreciate any tips for this type of cooking as well. Thank you

You are right to be confused. We have all learned one lesson well, do not put metal in microwave. To help I have attached the online version of the owner's manual in the first link below. The second and third link have information about this method. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question.
I can understand the confusion with the wire rack.
I have e-mailed you the manual that was available for your model.
The microwave has a tuned cavity and will except the metal rack for multi-level cooking.
You only use the rack when doing multi-level cooking, when you have many things to warm up or cook at the same time.
Do not leave the rack in the microwave under normal use.
I hope this will help.
