Want to know the advantages/disadvantages of a straight or Curved Shaft gas grass trimmer. Most of the edging I do is along the sidewalk and against a fence. What type would you recommend? Thanks Angelo

Thank you for your question.
I can understand wanting to know which type is the easiest to use with your type of trimming.
The curved shaft is lighter and easier to handle.
Usually it has a smaller size CC engine 25CC to 28CC.
The straight shaft models are a little heavier and can have a little larger engine. Up to 32CC.
If you are trimming under a lot of shrubbery the straight reach makes it easier to get under those yard objects.
You could go with a combo unit that has a split boom and you can attach and curve or straight shaft as you wish.
You can also add a number of other attachments to the split boom models.
Split boom trimmer
.
With the split boom model you can get a blower/mini tiller/brush-cutter/edger/mini chainsaw pole trimmer.
I hope this will answer your question.
