Checking burner element and burner switch on Whirlpool Smoothtop Range

I have a 3 year old Whirlpool Smoothtop Range Model : RF214LXTS used very little. The back right burner stopped heating. Two weekd later I tried it again and it heated but there was a crackling noise when I turned the knob on. I would like to check the burner element and switch to be sure they are secure but do not know how t get to them. I really think it is in the switch but I need help to get to the parts. Thanks so much!!!
