I am having the exact same problem with my Kenmore Elite Double Oven and it is the second time it occurred after a self cleaning. We can't use the self cleaning feature without this occurring. It is extremely frustrating to either be asked to pull out a 375 lb wall oven after each self cleaning or pay a technician $150 each time to unmount the oven and press a button!!!!! I called 800-4MYHOME and tried to talk to someone at a higher level at customer service to waive any repair fees because this is a defect. I talked to the first rep and got the 'it isn't our issue' type of answer. I asked for a supervisor and I got put on hold for 30 minutes. I finally hung up and was trying to do it myself. I unmounted the unit and have tried tilting it forward to find the hi limit reset button but we are unable to locate it. Our model is790.48193000. For the amount of money we paid for this unit, we should not have to deal with this problem. I saw the comment about regulations and strict guidelines for the safety devices on the unit but it shouldn't render the unit unusable. Here is a simple solution - put the damn reset switch on the control panel or make it a sequence of buttons to push on the front panel so the unit doesn't have to be unmounted. Anyway, if you can provide specifics as to where I can find the switch and how I can access it, I would appreciate it. Thanks for allowing me to vent. I am going to post this on Facebook as well in the hope that it will catch the attention of someone with common sense at Sears.
