The F1 error code indicates a problem with the water level pressure transducer signal on the machine control board. This can be caused by a kinked or torn air pressure tube that runs from the bottom of the washer tub up to a connection on the machine control board (the water level pressure transducer is on the machine control board on this washer). It can also be caused by a defective machine control board.
If you are able to make some checks yourself, you may be able to resolve this problem.
Unplug the washer
and follow the steps in the first image below to access and check the air pressure tube for the transducer. If you find no kinks or problems, use the steps in the second image to access the machine control board in the console of the washer. Check the air tube connection and the portion of the tube that runs through the console for problems or damage. If you find no apparent problems with the air pressure tube, then the machine control board will need to be replaced to correct this problem. The control board controls every operation on the unit. So, if the machine will work fine on certain cycles but not on others, this would indicate a control board malfunction.
If needed, you can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website
. The part number for the air pressure tube is 353244. The machine control is part number W10112113 (this part will substitute to new part number W10189966).
If you are not completely confident in your technical ability to safely access and check these components, I strongly recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer. Service can be scheduled at the following link:
