Wood Chipper Carburetor

Hi, I have an old Craftsman Wood Chipper. Model # 247795940. It seems to have lost power. It has difficulty chipping small branches and the engine overheats. I have replaced all of the blades, reversed the flails, replaced the air filters and changed the oil. I suspect that the carburetor may need adjustment or cleaning. The Owner's Manual states never to add engine or carburetor cleaner to the fuel tank. The Manual also says that the carburetor is factory preset. I am considering taking apart the carburetor but I have little experience with these things. Can you provide instructions on how to do this? Thank You
