My Whirlpool Washer model LSN2000JQ1 washer wont drain or spin
Report This
I found an answer on here that had a picture with bypassing the lid switch. Because in the spin cycle it will not drain or spin. Before I bypassed it, there was no response, (no noise...as if nothing was happening.) After I bypassed it, it now makes a humming noise and the bypass wire gets hot. Im assuming that there is a short causing the heated wire. Im just not sure what is causing that. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your question.
I am sorry you are having a problem with the washer. If the washer would not make any noise until you bypassed the lid switch we know at the least the lid switch is defective. If the switch was good, you should have heard the same hum you did with the lid switch bypassed. If you are not getting a good connection, the wire will heat up and not provide the motor with enough voltage to run. I have found a video that shows how to bypass the lid switch. Click

to watch the video. If the washer does not run after bypassing the lid switch, please let me know. If you have a volt ohmmeter and feel comfortable making live voltage checks I can give you the check to diagnose the washer.
If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website:
