craftsman lawn tractor model number 917.288700 ran fine when I parked it last week.
When I parked my lawn tractor last week, it was runngin fine. This week, i replaced the battery with a fresh one(old one would not hold a charge for more than 2 days). I tried to start it, the starter works fine. But the engine would not start, just keeps turning over. SO, I replaced sparkplugs, and the fuel filter. During this process i checked that the lines are not plugged. Also i detached the fueld line where it goes into the intake and cranked over the engine. Fuel spurted out, so i think the fuel pump is fine. When Removed the air filter and poured a small amount of fuel directly into the intake hole of the carb, it started and ran till all that was gone...just a few seconds. So my question is......do i need to rebuild or replace the carb? Is it still possibly the fuel pump? Is there a fuse I should be checking? If any of you have a better idea...send it please. Besides getting a yard goat. Tried to talk my wife into it, she said no. I thought it was a great idea, she didn't though. So, gota fix the yard tractor.
