Motor run capacitor 919167312 Craftsman Air compressor
Report This
The run capacitor has failed. It has melted and I cannot read the label to determine the specs. Sears does not carry the part anymore and I have had no luck with General Electric with the motor model number. Can you tell me what the the value specs of the run capacitor is? It has three leads, one to the centrifugal switch and the other two into the motor transformer. The start capacitor appears to be okay. It's value is 400-480mfd, 165VAC.

Thank you for your question.
I am sorry you are having a problem with the air compressor. I looked up the model number you submitted. I could not find the specs on the capacitor for your motor. If you could please reply with all the information on the motor, I might be able to find out something that way. I also recommend removing the wire connection cover on the motor. Sometimes the manufacturer will put the information under the cover.
I hope to hear from you.

The electric motor was manufactured by General Electric and according to the ID sticker on the motor body, the model number is 5KCR49TN2450AX. The part number on the sticker (I am assuming this is the part number for the motor itself) is D26712. The serial number is XVFP41. I have tried to research these numbers on the GE website, but have had no luck at all. I hopes this information helps because if I cannot determine what part to buy, this compressor will have to be trashed and it will cost over $300 to replace. I would hope, in the future, SEARS would at least have a substitute option if an original part is not available.
