Well Patrick. It's been a good run. They are closing my Sears. We are one of the 80. Went there for my last $4.99 oil change today. They were all really depressed. The auto guy couldn't get my coupon to work and he just gave me the oil change and tire rotation for free. Now there is no store within 600 miles.

Keeping the quality standards high would have helped immensely. For Kenmore, Craftsman and Die Hard. :(

Not if they liquidate, no. A company will come in and raise prices on what's left in stock, then increase the discount until they sell off even the shelves and fixtures.
KN B
I think they will try. I guess it depends on how many bids they get and if any of the bids are accepted.

Unintentional double post but I have wanted to say this for awhile anyway. I would also like to mention that the websites for Sears, SYW and Kmart should have had fewer gk

Fewer glitches over the years. Money should have been spent to keep these running smoothly. Everyone mentions the condition of the stores and while true, if you want to be an integrated retailer, you need the online piece to function as close to perfectly as you can get it.

It's a lose--lose situation for the company. Eddie will become the landlord which will allow him to charge the tenant (Sears) whatever amount he desires if he wins the bid. He will become the the fox watching the hen house that will slowly devour everything. The second option of total liquidation is a quick kill. Sears is gone---either way.

It's sad. Ours in one of the 80 closing. Now I won't have a Sears within 80 miles. Went to the store for my last $4.99 oil change today and the staff was really depressed. The auto guy couldn't get my coupon to work so he just gave me the oil change and tire rotation for free. I will miss Sears. Not another one for $600 miles..
