SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. On this model the end caps do not come off in order to access the console. You use a putty knife to release the spring clips #8 in the parts image.

Unplug or disconnect power
to the washer before attempting repairs.
Slide a putty knife under each end cap to release the spring clips holding the console down to the top of the washer. I have provided the rest of the step by step cabinet removal instructions in the image below.
If you decide to inspect the washer without removing the cabinet you can always carefully pull the unit out about 18 inches, tilt the unit back against the wall & use a flashlight to make your inspections from below. Be sure the washer is disconnected from power before pulling the unit out.
