Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the water dispenser stops working. The information you received from Joseph is good. If you do hear the humming sound when the dispenser is activated, the most likely problem will be with the water valve. It's also possible the reservoir could be frozen or the water line in the door but not as likely as the valve. To check the reservoir, remove the crisper drawers and you will be able to see the reservoir. If it's frozen a hair dryer can be used to thaw it out but be careful not to get it too hot. If the reservoir is ok, you can check the line in the door by disconnecting the water line at the connection under the door. Be prepared to catch some water. Place the end of the tube in a pitcher and activate the dispenser. If water does not flow with force, the water valve will probably need to be replaced. If the water does come out under pressure, the line in the door is frozen. Usually leaving the door open for a few minutes will free this line. I hope this will help you.
