Wonderful!!

I own 3 of these cans, they are very light weight and you would think they are cheap BUT they are not. I live in Florida, I brought 2 of them with me from NY 20 years ago. About 3 years ago I put them on the side of my house for landscaping clippings and bought a nice thick rubbermaid can with wheels. Guess what, after 2 tops cracking and the can cracking I just threw out that thick wonderful rubbermaid and brought out a 20 plus year old thin sears can. Two complaints, the little cap on top comes out and can be lost leaving a hole in the lid and the top is light weight so it can blow around the neighborhood when there are high winds. For $11. give them a shot, unless they have changed since I bought mine. This is a real honest review.

This is not the can you'll get, so don't depend on this picture.

It looks like from the picture you're getting a Rubbermaid green trash can. Nope! You're getting a black trash can, that, to be fair, says "Rough and Ragged" on the sticker. And if it's not damaged in shipment, you'll have to pay to send it back. At $25 for two trash cans, it's not worth paying to send them back, so I'll just keep them and hope they hold up, but really, they feel kind of cheap and the lid is hard plastic so I'm not holding out a lot of hope for them. Oh well, at least UPS delivers them to your house. I'm not happy, though, that this was apparently a bait and switch, or with the fact that I have 2 day shipping but didn't get them for 4 days. No wonder Sears and KMart are having problems.

What we need

|

Your basic, no frills trash can. I like that the lid fits well. I picked the (albeit empty) can up by the lid and carried it around the store before paying for my merchandise, and the base stayed on securely. I don't have any experience with it's longevity, but decided that this polypropylene can would last longer for our uses than the polyethylene cans also available. If we had an asphalt or concrete driveway, I would be concerned that the thin material on the bottom would wear through.

NOTE: at the time of purchase, the online specifications said that it came with a roller base. It does not! Also, the color is black (as in the photo), not the forest green/tan in the description.

This product IS TRASH! Made from cheap thin plastic. Item is not what is pictured (that is a rubbermaid can), it is black with a black lid. It's 32 gallons, but is much shorter than my other trash cans. Had it a week & cracked with the cold weather.
