I love this iron! Although the Rowenta DW8080 is a very heavy iron, I don't have to press down as hard on garments making ironing much easier. The new Rowenta DW 8080 was on display next to several other Rowenta Irons at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I instantly noticed the handle which had the best grip than the other irons on display. I also liked that the face plate had a lot of holes for the steam to emit. I purchased the iron and was eager to try it upon returning home. It was difficult to open the water filling inlet lid. However, the opening is large and was easy to fill with tap water which is recommended. I like the adjustable setting. The iron glides over my garments with just the right amount of steam and the wrinkles disappear. I used the "burst of steam" feature to get the wrinkles out of some new sweaters I recently purchased which had fold lines. The Rowenta DW8080 has an anti-scale cartridge that will prolong the life of the iron. It also has a self clean function which is explained in the manual and easy to understand. The Rowenta DW8080 iron has 1700 watts of power and a very long cord. The iron is made in Germany. I purchased the iron for approximately $89.00 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and used their 20% off coupon. I really don't like to iron, but with the Rowenta DW8080, ironing is a breeze! Thank you for reading my review.
This is the second Rowenta iron I have owned. I gave it a chance twice thinking the first one was defective. In fact, I'm ready to return this one also. It leaks, as did the first one, and gets water on the article being pressed and the ironing board cover. I'm finished giving this over-priced, over-rated iron a chance!
Expensive, but none come close to this...
Works well and good price and quality
iron doesnt work unless you play with the positioning of the wiring.
