Bought this item for storage of lawn mower and some yard tools. Was very easy to put together. My wife and I installed in about two hours. All the parts are well marked and the directions are very good. It was a fun little project for us to do together. My son who is 6'1" helped with the roof as my wife is somewhat short. I had a cement slab from an old metal shed I removed and it went on that with no problems. Some of the reviews I have read of this shed say the fit is not good if the ground is not level. I am very happy with the purchase.
...The shed is made from sturdy material that, I think, will hold up well over time. But, the bad news is that the design of the shed is horrible! Assembling it was so much more difficult than it needed to be. It goes together mostly with dovetails and notches. That's a cheap way to do it. I spent about an hour trying to get one particular section to lock together, disassembling and reassembling several times, double-checking that I was doing it correctly. Turns out the pieces just didn't fit, period. Awful! One amusing part of the assembly was the instructions themselves. Step 7 basically said "Go to step 7". Trust me - it's hilarious when you've just realized, after 3 frustrating hours, that you've bought a piece of ****! :) But, once assembled, it does look nice, and I do think it will last.
Have had this for a month now. Set up was harder than it should have been. First problem, Shed floor is 10 ft. - 8 inches not 10 ft. - 6 inches. Had a concrete pad poured and shed is 2 inches over it. I had to use pavers to support the door area. Walls don't always lock in to the floor and can be difficult trying to do so. I have one wall that has a clip that I just couldn't get to engage the flooring. spent a half hour trying. The corner panels have to snap into the side panels in a similar fashion, finally got them to engage but it wasn't easy. Roof panels were bowed and took tremendous effort to install. One guy pushing and aligning and the other twisting and fitting in the ridge channel.
The door latch is strange. Because of the design, you have to twist it upwards to unlatch the door as the cable gets in the way twisting downwards.
I do recommend installing the optional 2 x 6 wooden roof supports. These give you a place to hang things like a bicycle hook or tool racks.
Now that it is up I do like it but I would not purchase again. It would be easier to build out of wood.
Pieces were warped, and a pain to put together. One door blew off during the first windstorm. It's lying in a heap outside waiting for someone to haul it away. Total waste of money, live and learn. Have had it fir about a week, but the box is gone.
Will not let you return item. Will never order from Sears again!
I saw this recently and said,"LORD HEAR MY PRAYER If I don't use it to store I will use it for my prayer closet
Super easy to assemble. I did it myself in a couple of hours. Hardest part is getting the walls to click into the floor. Looks good, and doors snap shut at the top to keep from opening.
