I needed an umbrella and was looking around for one and found this beauty. It had great reviews and looked nice so I decided to get one and I'm glad I did. It's nice and big, has a easy way to open and close it and the windguard is wonderful. Well worth the purchase.
It's not as big as the one I bought 20 yrs ago. That one I still Have. Time will tell.
It worked well on a 45 minute walk in moderate rain, with about 3 minutes of heavy rain and strong wind. About a tablespoon of water drops hit my head and neck though. The upper skeletal structure beneath the fabric had water drops near the center. I had to hold the umbrella with two hands in strong wind and when the grip became uncomfortable. Wind made the umbrella hum, but the wind guard feature worked to hold its shape.
This product is ideal for temporary use in light, gentle rain and the occasional downpour. A hooded rain coat would be better in extended storms of heavy rain. I can't give it five stars because there is no wrist strap and the grip feels awkward after 10 minutes when the main shaft is leaning on my shoulder. The grip feels fine when the wind stops and it can be held vertically.
Love it so much.
