I am happy to say that I am truly impressed. Setup: instant via my Samsung S7, connected to my WiFi and apps. Picture: Brilliant detail, very accurate color and deep blacks. Sound: clear, crisp, and responsive. Remote: voice search works great, remote handles every function of my ATT one. Only disappointment is the remote is not illuminated.
Red blinking light with a blank screen after 3 weeks. THREE WEEKS. Class action lawsuit against Samsung for this very problem; shame on me for not googling the tv before I bought it. I will not be buying another Samsung tv ever again.
It certainly provides a great picture, especially since my upgrade was from a CRT TV. Having some difficulty using the remote in concert with Verizon's complex FIOS remote. Also, there are problems connecting with older accessory equipment that lack HDMI connection. Unsure how to choose component connection as a substitute. Sound from down-pointed speakers seems inferior. Guess I'll be playing music through my Yamaha home theatre set-up.
I wasn't even going to update to 4k as I don't think there is enough content out there to warrant the upgrade from traditional 1080p flatscreens. However when I saw this TV at this low price I had to jump for it. The limited content that is 4k (mostly short YouTube videos) truly are stunning, and I even upgraded to a PS4Pro as a result, to make the best of my 4k screen. While this set plays slow videos flawlessly, I have noticed that more taxing movies and games cause this set to struggle, in the balance between resolution/HDR color depth VS framerate. At times while gaming or mirroring a movie from my phone, I have seen the framerate stutter and at some points the screen will go black for a couple seconds (despite using the highest quality Monster cable). This can usually be corrected by using the throttled down game-mode which sets the priority on a smooth framerate. I have not tested other 4k sets, but these shortcomings seem worth enduring for the price, as the next class of 4k sets (oled and qled) are at least $1000 more expensive. It is worth noting that while most built in TV speakers are usually a mess, this set actually has surprisingly good sound quality for a mid-sized room. Also, fpr those using Samsung mobile devices, the "Smart View" features that work seamlessly with this set are a major plus, although as I understand, it only supports 1080p phone/device mirroring as opposed to 1440p or 2160p (full 4k) resolutions for whatever reason (perhaps the data transfer rate would ruin the experience?).
TV continues to power off even after repair. My tv is one month old we have already had replacements parts because it shut itself on and off and until it stopped turning on all together. A couple weeks after repair it continues to power itself off. Don’t waste your time or money on a Samsung television
Great price and beautiful picture bought two of these for my kids . Picture looks great on Xbox one x and don’t notice any issues while playing games!!
