High Tech Great Range

I purchased the 5.9 cu. ft. Freestanding Electric Range with Flex Duo? model NE59M6850SS. This is an Electric Cook Top stove with a Flex Duo? oven with dual door. It has a removable divider that converts one oven into two. It also has a Wi-Fi Connectivity feature that can be used with other appliances in the home or with the SmartThings app by Samsung. This is a glass top stove has 4 burners and a warmer. The two front burns have dual sized heating areas to use depending on the size of the pan. The back two burners are smaller size. The warming section is in the middle for ease of use. The controls knobs are clearly marked on what burner each operates. The clock is easy to set. The oven has a soft close door feature. It has a standard handle that will open to the full oven. Inside is the divider to make two ovens. The handle has a lever and when engaged, it will only open the top half of the oven. Very neat. In observing the oven/range, I noticed that the top oven is only convection bake where the bottom oven has the option to use conviction or bake. The full oven can be used as either. Having the ability to use two ovens is great when cooking a large meal that needs different temperature settings. It is also great for every day use when your french fries need to be baked at a different temperature than your nuggets. After using my oven for a few weeks, I have found the best way to bake pizza is to use the full oven. When I used the top or the bottom, it seemed that the back would get more done than the front so I would have to turn it. Full oven, works great, even baking! When exploring the oven and testing to try the dehydrate setting. I pressed the button and it begin to blank indicating that the top and the bottom oven is still two separate ovens, I opened the door and took the middle section out and noted that there are sensors that tell when the divider is in place. The screen then showed one full oven. It now told me that I was able to use this function to dehydrate food. Full oven =dehydrater. I dehydrated some apples and it worked amazing! I could hear the oven run but it was not so bothersome as a stand alone dehydrater. I was very impressed with how this work. I think this is my favorite feature that will be used a lot in our home. Another feature of the oven which is nice but I have not had a chance to use is the extra-large burner on the right front. Most skillet will fit in the large inter-burner. The outer larger burner would be great for stock pot cooking. The wi-fi connectivity took me by surprise. I am not currently using the Smart things ap however, I do have a smart Samsung TV. One day, while I was heating the oven, I was watching TV. When the oven got to temperature, I had a notification box show up in the upper right corner of my TV telling me the oven was preheated. While my house is on one level, I can see how this would be of benefit to those that have multiple floor homes. There are many other features to the oven that I have yet to explore. One other worth noting is that this Samsung Flex Duo range has a steam clean feature for the oven. You add a cup of water in the bottom, hit the button, and let it do its thing. Once it is done, you wipe it out! Super easy cleaning. Overall, I am glad I made this purchase. It is a convection oven that can do two things at once, is easy to use, has great features, and looks very sharp in my kitchen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Does not boil water and oven temps are wrong

when set on high the burners still go on and off intermittently and water takes an incredibly long time to boil. im not a product engineer, but in my experience, the high setting just means the burner is unceasingly, fully on.

the oven temps are wacky. first, 480 is the highest temp which doesnt do my bread and pizza baking any good. second, the pre-heating temps are simply invented. i preheat it fully to 350, realized it should have been 375 and re-set the temp to 375. it immediately said it was done without even a one second delay.

i do not recommend this oven or range for anyone who wants to boil water or have an accurate oven.

Another Fail

bought as a package, first the refrigerator failed, now the range. outside of warranty so samsung will not cover issue. hot surface light stays on (safety issue with children in house) and part of the hour on the clock no longer illuminates, tech thought the unit was showing an error code when sent picture. dishwasher barely gets dishes clean. so just waiting for the microwave to fail. i love their tvs but don't think i will buy their appliances again.

Samsung Flex Duo

This is really a great oven. Heats up very quick and its great to be able to use just 1/2 the oven. Most times we are cooking for the 2 of us so we don't need to use the whole thing. Burners have a great degree of control and rapid boil is excellent! Also have the app which I probably wouldn't use but its great to monitor the oven especially you have children.

I love this Range! With a few exceptions

I wasnt sure as some of the reviews were just ok, but I love this range. The top oven literally pre-heats in seconds! The convection which I never used before is awesome!! Takes some getting used to but bakes and roasts so evenly, my other range would burn everything on the back side and the front side would be raw. The fast boil burners dont
seem to be that fast, but my other range was the slowest ever so still a definite improvement. The cooktop does need to be cleaned every time you use it so some of the reviews on this are spot on - you definitely want to get that cooktop cleaner out every time to keep it looking new. The only drawback is I wish the top oven was little bigger as I cant fit my stoneware baker with lid on in it - but the trade-off was getting a range that didnt have storage and I wanted the storage drawer. Lastly, two thing; I havent been able to figure out if the oven divider actually can be stored in the storage drawer when using the
whole oven. I cant seem to fit it in there, but I just slide it next to my fridge, which is probably more convenient anyway. And the oven racks seem to be a little short for as long as the oven door is - Samsung should consider offering rolling racks that extend out further for easier lift out of large items like a turkey. All in all I am happy with the purchase so far.
