Was forced to buy a new refrigerator quickly. Wanted the French door design, modern and sleek. Not a lot of time to research, but heard good things about Samsung (previously had Whirlpool that was only 6 years old). Only draw back is that the new fridges only have the gloss, smooth front. No longer the matted textured design. Was worried about fingerprints/ scratching. Have had for 6 mos and no need to worry about fingerprints (i.e. cleaning daily). Doesn't mark up too easily. Lots of room inside with 3 compartments that hold a lot. Only issue there is that you cannot have the long bottom drawer open and open a drawer above at the same time. It has a chime alarm if you leave the doors open too long or do not close all the way-great if you have kids! Each door opens independently. I do not have the ice maker with mine (sold separately). They have a filter system in place for that which I do not use. The filter light comes on automatically after 6 months. Red light stays on as I do not use a filter, cannot re set. This is a system design flaw to me. The only other issues I have found is with the freezer. Even on lower temps the independent smaller drawer kind of ices/frosts up. Also, when very warm out, the freezer will make a louder motor noise and kind of seal shut when opened once. Very hard to open a second time quickly if needed. I don't know if it is re vacuuming itself? All and all I really think this is a well made product. Great look, design and function.
This 25.5 cu.ft. French Door although beautiful is the most noisiest refrigerator my wife and I have even owned in our 45 years of marriage. It makes the loudest cracking noises and not just occasionally but a lot. Was told it would do this cracking but didn't realize they would be so often and loud enough to wake us up in our bed which is about 30 ft. down the hallway from the kitchen area. Also it makes a loud noise like a motor starting up and then will stop after just a few seconds. This happens off and on throughout the day and night. At first thought it was just starting to run but this is louder and never goes into a full run when doing this. Then last is there is a loud buzzing noise almost all the time when the refrigerator is not running, popping , cracking etc. Sort of like a motor whine you would hear off in the distance. We love the interior room it gave us inside the unit but just not sure we can continually stand it's noises.
The refrigerator is showing two error codes right after delivery which was a week late and they refused to hook up the refrigerator even though Sears made me buy their crappy required installation kit in order to get it installed
Simple...hook up the water supply, plug it in...done. Factory settings are all I needed...no adjustments necessary. This unit is also really, really quiet. The only noise I hear is when I get ice...the ice level drops activating the water fill sensor and water fills the ice maker.
Bouth this a month ago and very pleased. Love that I can load the freezer and when I open it nothing falls on me. Plenty of room for family of 5(filled it only once with Easter left overs.
this refrigerator has been terrible. It looks beautiful and seems like it has many great features. We have lost almost every plastic part within the first year. We were lucky to have purchased an extended warranty because we hare on our third ice box. Terrible craftsmanship, and my family and I strongly suggest you DO NOT buy this hunk junk
... Until the defrost drain froze, and started leaking into the fridge. Other than that its great. Seems poorly designed the replacement clip to keep the drain from freezing is about 5 times longer... so yeah.
