PROS: A lot of room with plenty of configuration options. CONS: The only negative aspect of this refrigerator so far is that the LED lighting is of a blue-white light which makes the food less appealing. A warming LED white light would be more natural. Also, the middle drawer and freezer only have one LED light source each. Both would benefit from additional lighting.
Refrigerator started making noise about 25 days after delivery, sounds like a fan grinding in the back of the refer. Samsung says this is a know problem with these refers, and the unit requires service. Eventually the unit will stop working. Sears won't take it back either, less than 30 days since delivery. Don't buy this fridge, check online there are many complaints about this product. Should be a recall.
worst ice maker of any refrigerator we've ever owned. constantly freezes up. replaced once and the new one did the same thing. this is a known issue according to other reviews i've read.
I love the features on this refrigerator but the icemaker is terrible. It constantly freezes up, requiring gouging out the frozen ice or using a hair dryer to melt it. It seems to be from moisture entering the icemaker from the refrigerator section. It appears that the ice maker is not adequately sealed from the warmer refrigerator air. I would not buy another one until I could be sure this design flaw has been fixed.
Do not buy this fridge. We’ve had it for 2 years. The icemaker doesn’t work, the fridge is cumbersome and beeps all the time. Awful purchase. Will never buy a Samsung fridge again!
I bought this unit in November, 2017. After a few months, the ice maker started freezing up. I should have returned it to the store and demanded a refund. Every four weeks or so, I have to unplug the unit, remove the ice maker dispenser, and try to defrost the ice maker section to melt out the ice dams that build up and block the ice from dropping in to the ice bucket.
From the reviews I have read on line, this is a common problem that many people have had with this model. My recommendation to anyone looking for a new Refrigerator/Freezer is to stay away from Samsung in general, and this model in particular.
We got the refrigerator about a year ago. We have struggled constantly with the ice maker. The ice gets stuck dropping into the tiny bin where it depositors from the tray. This makes getting the bin out nearly impossible. You then have to slide your hand with some of object to break up the ice chunk that has developed in the way back of the bin chute. This happens every other day or so. The bin of ice even when full does not provide more than three glasses of ice, so be prepared in the summer to buy extra bags of ice to have on hand for when you need it. The rest of the fridge is fine for the most part. The stainless steel is constantly needing wiped down from smudges. And the ice dispenser constantly drips from ice melting in the chute. If I could return it I would. In a heartbeat.
