We've had this refrigerator for almost a month now. It is the best appliance choice we've made. The water dispenser on our first one had a small leak. The technicians came out to fix it twice and ended up sending us a new one, but that is the only negative. Even the leak wasn't too burdensome as it meant using a paper towel to dry up the water catch once a day. This refrigerator has TONS of room, and more usable space than all of our previous refrigerators. Our favorite feature by far is the flexible space in the bottom right door. We currently use it as a beer/drink fridge. Since we have a large chest freezer in the garage we don't need additional freezer space, so this made the most sense for us. Great option for big families who need the space or young couples moving into their first home. My in-laws gave us a hard time as it doesn't have Bluetooth, a TV screen in the door, or a See-Through Door, but if you don't need all the unnecessary bells and whistles this one does well.
Love the design of the Flex......BUT the closed system stopped working, fridge did not work, took almost a month to get a new one. that means no fridge in my house and Samsung could care less, their support is the worse!!!! All they do is read from a script and tell you the next step will take 5-7 days. Once I got a new fridge, the door was dented and the delivery company said they would take care of it, which they did not and Samsung told me too bad, I accepted it. I should have turned it away....and go through another month of no fridge. Only 3 weeks after getting this fridge, the ice maker froze up, cleaned it and now another month and it froze up again. Even though this was a brand new fridge, I have no warranty on it, so it is my problem. NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT!!!!!
i've had this model since october 2018 and a few days back, the freezer stopped working all of a sudden. not sure what's going on but it's very disappointing.
i expect such appliances to work for atleast 10 years before any breakdown. disappointed with samsung quality and engineering.
ice maker makes mold and it has been replaced twice.
as much as i may like the styling and design of this refrigerator, it gets 1 star from me. in houston, texas, having ice is important in this mostly hot climate. the ice maker has been defective since day one; although this is a known issue, it has still not been properly fixed. it simply does not work without constant manual defrosting of the ice maker. constantly a dam of ice from day 1.
the fridge is absolutely gorgeous. not made with genuine stainless steel but not the end of the world. multi function zones are the main reason i bought this fridge. those are all perfect. the problem that i battle every other week is the ice maker. seems to be a pretty common problem. huge ice clumps up and then you get no ice at all. the help chat says defrost it (with out a hair dryer) but they don't tell you how. in order to let my ice machine defrost i would have to leave my fridge doors open for hours with how big the ice clumps get. i checked all seals and they look great. you can't turn it off either to try and prevent that. real bummer. not sure if buy another fridge which is a shame considering i love samsung. i just cleaned it but will add photos next time.
refrigerator is less than 2.5 years old. ice maker has failed twice. first time it was in warranty. terrible design if it is going to fail every year. customer service is horrible as well. waited over an hour to speak with someone, finally gave up, not to mention the incredibly annoying message that was repeated over and over saying "please stay on the line we will be with you." will never purchase samsung refrigerator again. i would not recommend this product.
