AMAZING VERSATILITY AND SPACIOUS INTERIOR LAYOUT

I rarely give five stars, but for this product there were a lot of good reasons. This refrigerator is seriously big, yet it fits into my small galley-style kitchen, and with only two inches on either side, one of which is against a wall, the four doors open wide to reveal even more interior space than I was expecting. That said, it’s important to know that while the Samsung spec shows the width of the fridge with the doors closed to be exactly the same when the doors are open, this is not true. The fridge is one and a half inches wider on each side when the doors are open parallel with the walls of the fridge. The top two doors provide access to refrigerated space with multiple glass shelves that have many options in height adjustment. An especially clever idea is the shelf where one half slides in on itself, allowing for the placement of tall items in that space. Super handy for some of my jars and bottles that are just too tall to fit on the door. And the LED lighting is so bright and spectacular that I can see every item at a glance even if it’s at the back of a shelf! And speaking of the doors, there are multiple plastic “bins” that can be completely removed which makes them easy to clean by placing in the sink and washing, instead of the usual awkward wipe down with a sponge. The one tiny criticism I would have of the door bins is that one end of some of the bins on the left door are very narrow and there’s not a lot of items that could fill these spaces. I realize the shape of these bins is to accommodate the ice maker and I’m not sure if there’s any way around that. The bottom left compartment is the freezer with sliding clear fronted bins and I love this as it’s easy to see and remove what’s in each bin. There are also fully removable door bins here too. And the best part? The bottom right compartment is called the Flex Zone and can be set at four different temperatures – use it like a fridge, use it like a freezer, or choose one of two other settings in-between. This versatility is one of this fridge’s most outstanding features. The outside of the top door can dispense crushed or cubed ice, and chilled water. And right above it is a control panel that allows you to change the temperature of the fridge or freezer compartments including a very handy feature called Power Cool and Power Freeze. This feature lets you crank up the cold in the fridge or freezer if you want to cool or freeze something in a hurry – so useful after bringing home the groceries on a hot day! Another feature I like is that there’s an alarm you can turn on that will alert you if the fridge door is left open longer than 2 minutes. I am extremely happy with my choice of this Samsung Flex refrigerator and it’s everything I hoped for. The appliance is made from very good quality materials, nothing flimsy or cheap looking. An added bonus is that the stainless steel finish on the doors does not show fingerprints as badly as many other products with a similar finish, so a quick wipe every few days keeps it looking clean and shiny. If you’re looking for a fridge with loads of space, lots of versatility on how you use that space, and above average customer service – Samsung called me to make sure the fridge had delivered safely, was installed and fully functional, and that I was happy – this is the appliance that should be top of your list.

Great refrigerator...if it only kept food at safe temperatures

The four-door design is great, I love the fact that there is a flex zone that can convert from fridge to freezer. Overall, the inside capacity is perfect for our family of four. Two issues, one of which is major: the refrigerator does not hold food at safe temperatures when it is programmed at Samsung's recommended 38 degrees--there is a discrepancy between the set temp and the actual temp, varying as much as 4-6 degrees (big deal for food safety) for random periods of time. I put two thermometers inside the refrigerator compartment in different places and both areas were not keeping food cool enough. I confirmed by testing the actual temp of the food just taken out of the fridge (milk was already at 45 degrees). I was informed that it is completely normal for the fridge to run warm and not keep food below 40 degrees. A minor issue is that the water dispenser shoot crooked and the ice dispenser doesn't "dispense" as much as it throws it out in a haphazard fashion unless we use a wide-mouthed cup and hold it very close to the opening.

Still new to our home

|

We’ve only had the fridge about 2 weeks.  Love it so far but be forewarned this fridge dents and scratches very easily.  Like my kid took off his track jacket and the zipper hit the door - first dent :(
Love the flex area - I keep all the drinks for lunches etc there and since they don’t need to be as cold as the fridge I hope I’m saving a little $.

The ice dispenser and water features are junk!

|

We bought ours not to long ago and it has never made enough ice. The water flow is soooooo slow. I generally run out of patience and use the faucet. Or warranty is almost up... so I'm looking to replace or they better fix. I will not ever consider buying a Samsung fridge again if this matter does not get resolved quickly.

THAT ICEMAKER MAKES THE REFRIGERATOR WORTHLESS

|

Purchased 9 months ago and after three months of use found out that the icemaker is not up to its job. This is a known issue with Samsung and I which I had don more research and read more reviews, as would not have purchased from Samsung. Repairs are coming so we will see how that goes but I am not holding my breath.
For price of this refrigerator you would think Samsung Quality control would have picked up on this and forced management to deploy a better design that works. The amount of ice you get is small and because of the location the ice cubes remain cloudy because they never fully freeze.
Additionally, If you do not check the icemaker weekly you will find yourself with half frozen ball of ice that wont allow you to make any ice and then your are stuck with removing the ice bin and trying to defrost the icemaker so it will once again work.
I have had to resort to keeping bags of ice and buying ice trays to make my own ice cubes to endure that there is ice when I want it.
There are just two of us in the house and we are always out of ice and it is even worse when we have company to visit.
I wish I hadn't given away my side-by-side Kenmore which worked perfectly and is sitting pretty in my best friends kitchen.

Aggravated and hoping for resolution before I am out of warranty.

Do not purchase Samsung.

|

We have owned this refrigerator for 1 year. We left on vacation almost 1 year to the day of the purchase. We came home to find the refrigerator not functioning. We called samsung and they sent out a technician to repair it. He was there for 6 hours and told us it was not repairable and would need to be replaced. Samsung arranged for the replacement and then two weeks later sent me an email stating that they would not honor the replacement. So far we are 2 months without a refrigerator. We spent 3000 dollars on this piece of junk.
