Purchased this frig sans showcase a little over 3 years ago. Had to have dispenser control panel replaced one year in. Fan in freezer often gets iced over and makes loud noise as a result. Have had technician out twice for this issue...tell me it is due to freezer door not being shut well...do not like ice/water dispenser set up as the switching back and forth is tiresome. It does cool well and looks nice and roomy enough, but issues have been tiresome.
We were so happy with this frig when we bought it Now after 3.5 years the frig will not defrost, we have waited a week for a repair person then the day he is to come they reschedule. Today a repair person came and for a mere $400.00 we can get the frig repaired. Nine days no frig and now we get to wait 2.5 weeks for a part. NOT HAPPY!!!
I had it for three months and my Freezer turn to an Ice block. have to unplug once a week. went to store, they tell be to call 800 number, i call 800 number they call me to call store. been on phone for an hour with no resolution
Refrigerator looks really nice but BROKE after two weeks , It stopped getting cold all my food went bad Ice melted because freezer stopped working and flooded kitchen ... complete nightmare Samsung is yet to send a technician to my house.... Sears customer support is terrbile as well all they do is transfer you over to Samsung.
After numerous failed attempts of delivering on a promised date, the fridge finally arrived. The fridge itself is doing it's job by keeping our perishables frozen/cold. However, the finish of the fridge is my biggest gripe.
When first looking at the fridge, about a foot away, everything looks great. It's once you take a few steps back that you start to notice a few glaring issues. First, the finish of the left door is definitely more "matte" than the right. It looks like two completely difference finishes.
Second, dents. Lots of dents. Quite a shame as it's been issue after issue with this order. I have a Samsung Tech coming to replace the door later this week and am wishfully hoping that the new door arrives dentless and with a matching finish.
The photos below were taken 1 hour after delivery.
Chose this model based on good reviews, great price, and quick availability. The initial unit delivered was damaged extensively by the Sears delivery crew. Sears was quick to arrange a replacement, but this required another day of waiting for delivery, unpacking and boxing food, etc. And then the replacement didn't work: the freezer didn't chill, a chime went off every few minutes, and the water dispenser didn't work. Sears support was useless; only a lucky find of an internet post describing the exact same problem revealed that a small magnetic door closing sensor was the culprit; adding a magnet solved this problem, but a new appliance shouldn't need such a hack to make it work! Plus, the fridge as delivered was missing a shelf (which Samsung delivered a week later). The appliance now works OK; the water and ice dispensers function nicely. The freezer is quite spacious and easy to organize. The fridge feels crowded somehow, and there isn't a lot of room for tall items. The food showcase is a handy feature but a bit of a gimmick really. But the biggest problem is the noise: ours is a noisy fridge, far louder when the compressor is running than the 15-year-old GE it replaced. I am currently working on getting Samsung to investigate whether this is abnormal, or if this is just a poor design. In short, look elsewhere.
I purchesed the samsung rh25h5611sg/aa side by side 2 years ago and the freezer has stopped working 3 times so fay. It goes out temporarily (about 12 hours) and I lose all frozen food. When waranty repairperson checks (about 7 days later) the freezer is working and my warantee for food replacement is void. I believe Samsung should either repair or replace the unit as this is unacceptable! If no fix at least replace my food loss every time it happens.
