Never had this manufacturer

I am delighted to write that I never had this mfg. and I am so happy with my purchase. I am now interested in matching for my kitchen, a dishwasher also of stainless and I will shop Samsung. I have given 5 stars because of the quality of my refrigerator and love the clean look because it has no handles.

the refrigerator has more room than my previous one, and was a perfect fit in the allotted space in the kitchen. also my magnets from our travels stay in place.

Shelves are cheaply made & break easily

shelves are cheaply made & break easily. i'm on my 3rd replacement shelf in 2 years. they are either out of stock or cost $60-80 each time. would not buy this product if i had known this in advance.

the refrigerator is fine except i ordered one with the hinges on the left. i received one with hinges on the right. the samsung delivery people did not fix it, the door could be switched. called customer service at samsung and they said sorry out of luck. i also ordered and paid for removal of the old refrigerator; again, delivery people refused to complete the service. very poor customer service!!!!!

The Ugly, the Bad, and the Good

ugly: removed the sticker from the freezer door, which left adhesive residue on the surface. not wanting to ruin the finish, i searched the internet for a solution. on a retailer's site, a samsung rep gave the following instructions: bar keepers friend and a soft cloth wiping along the grain of the surface.

i followed the official instructions to a t. not only did adhesive residue remain, but it marred the stainless steel finish. i. am. livid. a $1,000 refrigerator and samsung couldnt have spent a few extra cents for a low-adhesive sticker?

bad: ice cube output slow. fitting gallon size milk containers/tall items on shelves takes creativity.

good: freezer and fridge hold the correct temp. compartments are spacious.

Sharp Looking Refridgerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a large, good-looking refrigerator and prefer the classic top-freezer style. This unit is exactly that. The black stainless looks sharp. The handle free look is slick. Note I do not hear the noises other reviewers have reported - this refrigerator is quiet. Ice maker works very well. Overall performance is excellent. That said there are a few things that could be improved: 1) The coverage of inside lighting falls short once you start loading items - there are darker areas. 2) Not having a split shelf is a bigger deal with this unit, as adjusting a shelf to create a taller section leaves you with a whole shelf that is too short for anything except an egg carton. What's humorous about this is the owners manual tells you that milk in the door has a shorter shelf life than milk in the unit itself, but the door is the only realistic place a 1 gallon jug fits. And if you buy a new jug while your current jug is low be prepared to move a bunch of stuff around. 3) Other users have mentioned the complexity of switching the door hinges, and I agree. This is an overly complex process. And the doors didn't close properly until I simply removed the little plastic "auto closers" on both the refrigerator and freezer doors. (yes Samsung, the unit was properly leveled).
