For the money, great dutch oven! Probably worth more than the price. Cooked great in the oven and clean up was easy. I've read reviews concerning the **** on the lid. I had the same concern when I purchased the pot, but figured if need to I could find a replacement ****. With that said, I didn't have a problem with the ****. I purchased 2 of these for a dinner party we were having and both were in the oven at 350 degrees for 3 hours ... not a problem for the ****. instructions say pot/lid are good up to 450 degrees, that would probably be the real test. All in All we loved these pots ... cooked evenly and the food turned out soooo tender! Sandra Lee rocks and her product is FANTASTIC!

Sandra Lee Dutch Oven

Bought this beautiful dutch "oven" thinking I could put it in the oven....NOT.  I put it in the oven according to a recipe I had and the lid handle melted and fell off!!  Do not buy this if you intend to use it in the oven.

I was in love with my dutch oven until I used it in the oven. I heard a pop and smelled burning. When opened the oven, I discovered that the handle had separated and the top piece fell off. Apparently the lid is not oven safe? Why would they put a handle on it that wasn't oven safe. My oven was only set to 400 degrees. The point of a dutch oven is to be able to transfer it to the oven for roasting or baking. Still a great pot for the stove top.

Great product, I've used it quite a bit since buying it. Cooks beautifully and I love the weight of this pot.
