Assembly instructions were very good. Tools needed are screwdriver and hammer. Suggest you lay out all parts into desk and drawer groups before starting assembly. A few parts were not marked so be sure you know which is what before starting. Only disappointment was that rounded accent on the front was not centered properly on piece behind it and we did not notice this until assembly completed, using their pre-drilled holes. Otherwise, very nice, we like it, would recommend it. Note: drawer hold LETTER sized, not legal-size folder holders.
Sturdy and fits my needs
Desk looks nice and went together easily. The only suggestion I have is to have some wood stain about the color of the desk or darker to apply to the edges of the pieces to darken the light line that shows on the seams. Applying with a cotton swab and wiping off with a paper towel worked well for me. It would be nice if Sauder could ship this in two boxes - one box is very heavy and hard to handle.
I purchased this desk and bookcase, the bookcase wasn't that bad but it has taken me forever to put the desk together. I purchased it before my mother's death (6 mos. ago) and I still have not been able to use it because when I tried to move it parts loosened and the center drawer fell. Now it's not aligned and I have to take it apart just to try and repair it or just count it as a lost and throw it away.
Very decent desk. Bought one recently for my office. Only drawback is the lack of a lock on the desk. I wish I saw that before assembling it. It sucks having to take it all apart because of locks.
