Needs a better design

It is easy to assemble and the gearing is pretty smooth. But the seat is pretty uncomfortable and the pedals are spaced too close to the front tire. If you need to make any turn with the pedals level you will hit your feet on the front tire. So you are only able to really turn with one pedal at 6 O'clock and one at 12 O'clock. For the tall person like myself i would look for another bike until Schwinn changes that.

I would feel confident in recommending this bike to a friend

|

Rider is 66 year old male,6'-4", 205 lbs. Very pleased with purchase. Appears to be well made. Brakes and shifters work as they should. HOWEVER! The seat that came on the bike must have been a relic from the Spanish Inquisition. I believe I could have mounted a brick on the stem and it would have felt better. Replaced it immediately with another Schwinn seat that I purchased elsewhere...with more cushion. I believe the sprocket system on this bike is the same as on a 26", meaning it requires a little more effort to pedal in any given speed. Also seems not quite as nimble as my old 26. Seems the frame is the same size but has larger wheels and subsequently longer forks. This allows me to more nearly straighten my legs on downstroke. One of the reasons I ride is for low impact knee exercise. So all is well. Just waiting for better weather. But for the seat problem I would have given it 5 stars.

excellent bike so far

|

I bought the bike for casual leisure rides with my children, and so far, it has been performing well. Though it's only been a month old and I have ridden it on very few occasions, there had been no problems so far.

Bent Wheel

|

The assembly and adjustment instructions were somewhat
difficult to understand.

After assembly and adjustment of the brakes, the front wheel was dragging in one section of the wheel. It had a wobble. Contacted company. Customer service rep said it was probably a bent
wheel and sent a replacement.

Received the new wheel. Problem solved.

Rated average due to this problem and the instructions. Has not
been ridden very much due to weather.
