After having redo our garden, we used the Nature Scapes mulch and we were very satisfied. We chose this becuse of the Scotts name and they did not disappoint. The pieces were a nice size and it really helped bring our garden to life. The colors in from the plants in the garden really "popped" against the black mulch. The best part was, they really did hold their color. In the past we used mulch where the dye would run and make a mess. The colorguard Scotts uses really makes a difference as the color doesn't fade and it doesn't blead off onto everthing else. Definately worth paying a little more for the better quality. I am retired so I bought this thinking it would save me labor and look grat for some time. I spent close to $900.00 on this and after a very mild winter It caked like cow patties and has very little color left. This is after only being down for 9 months. I am so disappointed. I have loved all of Scotts products till this happened. It will never happen again.
I purchased 120 bags of the Scotts Nature scapes Black mulch on April 29th, 2018, and now it's turned a grey, ashy color. I loved the dark black against my landscaping but now looks old and terrible. I'm very disappointed in this product. I'm a loyal Scott's product purchaser for my yard and thought this was a perfect product for me. Purchasing 120 bags was a big project for me, and disappointed in the Scotts 100% guarantee color for 1 year. The cost and the labor was a waste.
We purchased 34 bags of Scott’s Naturescapes Deep Forest Brown color enhanced mulch. Though the package says year long color guaranteed the color faded in two days. We put down 30 bags of mulch on Saturday and when we went to put down mulch on the following Tuesday evening, we saw the mulch put down on Saturday had not retained it’s wonderful Brown color. In comparison to the bags we put down on Tuesday the previous mulch looks like regular ground up pieces of wood with the color washed off. Maybe the heavy rain on Sunday and the light rain on Monday washed it off by Tuesday. Truly disappointed.
As soon as we opened the bag we could see this was not the dry, bland looking stuff. Dense, full of color and looks so much better. Even after a long cold winter it still looked good going into this spring. We only needed to buy a small amount to fill in a little here and there to be ready for this years season. We wont be going back to the other stuff.
Why would one bag of mulch have table legs ground up into 4 inch pieces in it. So much of it, I could have an entire leg! One piece even had a nail in it! How is this stuff going to help my plants???? I wish I could include a picture-shameful!!!
After I put down the mulch, I was impressed with how good it looked.
