Extremely easy setup out of the box, plug in the base and attach legs. A note though is that the legs are incredibly easy to over tighten, keep that in mind. The washers are plastic so the metal frame/legs bite right into it and give you hell when you try to take them off. The motor is a bit noisy at first, but calms down after a few uses, although it does make a loud popping noise when the base pegs come off the frame and raise the bed- you'll know what I mean when you use it.
Overall it's a great base, but at $1500, check and see if the Serta Motion Perfect III base is on sale, its much better.
I wish I could give an honest opinion on the quality of the item, but the bed we ordered (floor model), Sears failed to deliver not once but TWICE. And did not even phone us to advise. As the time window was closing we wound up calling them. The second fail was they set it up, without consulting our schedule, for the next day (Sunday), but as stated, they didn't show. On top of it all, trying to reach the store manger was a joke. Left on hold most times for 10+ minutes with no one checking back. They also took their sweet time issuing our credit and then mailed us a check. Ughhh...Sears has lost our business for good. So really, the one star is for the awful customer service and untruths told to us during the whole fiasco.
