So far, so good. This is a compact, light unit that seems well made, though not in the "Pro" category. The tape is metal, with 16" markings for studs. The crank handle for retracting the tape folds flat against the sturdy plastic case. Rewinding does take a lot of turns, but it retracts well. Overall, a very nice, affordable 100' tape measure.
