This was a gift for my son-in-law who said it had all the features he wanted and was a very good measure.? Very happy with it, as he uses it every day for his job.
I have been using a Stanley tape measure for over 10 years and had no complaints. The one I had for 3 years finally broke and I recently purchased a new one. The new models metal measuring tape was noticeably thinner and less rigid. I was very disappointed and plan on returning it for another brand
For being a 30' tape, it's surprising light. And its built to last the ages! I've dropped, threw, jumped, fallen, just about any tape measure they make at work, and NOTHING lasts like a FatMax. Keep it up Stanley! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I?ve had my tape measure about a year and have only used it a handful of times just to measure my windows. Today my mom used it right in front of me and the blade snapped off at about 33?. Wasn?t bent and never abused. What a piece of junk...
Do yourself a favour and learn from my mistakes.
Stay away from Milwaukee's tape measures if you're an all day everyday user. The don't hold up.
Why am I talking about Milwaukee? Because, before I meandered over to their needs improvement section, I used FatMax tapes exclusively. 25', 30', 26'/8m ... You name it, I've used it. After my experiment I swore off everything except FatMax. My current one is this one 30'. The thing is a workhorse, you can get it wet, still works. Muddy? No problem. Standout length with minimal flex about 8'. It doesn't have the oversized hook on the end which I like better, and it's not magnetic, which unless you deal with steel it's just a pain to have (attracts metal filings off your nails)
Short story, should you buy it? Yes. Take it a pro who's stuck with FatMax/Stanley his entire career save an ill-advised detour for about 8 months and two tapes.
Life span: daily use - 6-8mo if you don't abuse it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have 4 of these scattered throughout the shop, and I love how easy it is to read them. I've been using them for roughly 5 years now and still have yet to scratch or link them as I have with some others. On my wish I bought the ones with auto lock. Would definitely buy more in the future. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This makes the third FatMax that I have owned in the last 3 years and it D laminates on the bottom of the tape this one I just started using and haven't had it for a year it's all water one time and it would delaminated I will not purchase any anymore
