This kayak is a surprising value. It is stable and has some unique features like the removable gear box that you can tow if desired. It has lots of storage and tracks straighter than most short kayaks designed like this due to the hull shape on the bottom. We did not expect it to be this nice for the money-it is a good value and a very nice kayak if you are looking for this type.
This kayak is very "tippy". I am 6' 1", long-waisted. This may add to this problem. My wife didn't find them that bad. For both of us though, they track horribly. As soon as you stop paddling, they spin around.. don't continue forward. I purchased 3.. returned 3. I will buy the Aruba Sit-In and hope it is more stable and tracks better.
I ordered this kayak without reading the reviews. I had just researched the Sundolpin Journey 12ss for my husband and it had great reviews so I guess I assumed the Bali 10ss would be well received. I could not return it fast enough. We have several kayaks and I was excited to add this to our small fleet. THe problem? tracking... horrible. I was exhausted just trying to keep it straight and on course. I've never experienced anything like it. I arranged the return for this kayak as soon as we hit land. I ordered the Bali 12ss after reading the reviews and I love it. Don't waste your time or money. Its's definitely a design flaw on the 10'. ugh
Bought it on a Monday went on river on Sunday and unable to control direction of boat and flips very easily. Been kayaking for many years. Returned the next Monday Do not recommend.Unsafe, unsturdy
rolls too much at the slightest movement , tracks badly requiring uneven paddling , water comes in at the seat holes , would not recommend in the slightest ..
This kayak does not track well at all! It sits high in the water and is impossible to keep on a straight course. As soon as you stop paddling it spins around. After an hour on the lake I felt like I had a day's workout. I couldn't wait to return it. Sears accepted my return graciously with no problem.
