This Tomcat mousetrap was incredibly inexpensive, coming in (counting tax) at less than $.75 each. My mouse problem was gone within an hour of their deployment. The traps worked bloodlessly so no mess. They can be either thrown away with the mouse in it at this price or quickly & easily cleaned & reused. Best pest control value ever!!
I used two of these traps, the first one caught a mouse in the correct spot (behind the head) but did not kill it. I threw that trap away after putting the mouse out of its misery.
I then tried adjusting the spring on the second trap to make it "snap" a little tighter. Caught a mouse, still didn't kill it. Having lived out in the country most of my life, I've used many mousetraps and most kill instantly. Not sure what is going on with these traps, but I hate having the mice suffer.
They built a better mouse trap as the saying goes.
Run to your local hardware store, don't walk ! Say goodbye to the bad guys, aka mice with Scott's wooden mouse traps !
The statement that you don't need to reinvent the mouse trap still holds true today! For the garage it's an inexpensive choice. They have improved the pad with a higher raised grid so that cheese, peanut butter, etc. will stick to it better.
What I like about Tomcat wooden mouse traps is that they always get the job done. It's a humane trap that always breaks the neck immediately so the mouse doesn't drag the trap off from the spot where it was set indicating that the trap made an instant kill and the animal didn't suffer. Also, you never see the bait gone off of a set Tomcat trap indicating that a mouse had nibbled the bait off the trap without springing it. And that kind of performance is what you expect from a good mouse trap.
