I love it! It's built like a rock! Started right up and off i went. Maybe I;m a strong guy, I don't know. It's Not made for weak people. I have owned many of lawnmowers and I found one that is Lawn-monster!!
I bought this Yard-Man 173cc Chipper/Shredder Vac reconditioned on yesterday here in San Antonio Texas. I tested on the front lawn and was not impressed at all. The front of the vac kept getting caught on the ground, however when you set the setting higher it just did not pick up as well as expected .The dust from the bag was significant and leaves were still shooting from the bottom of the bag. I tried putting a one inch in diameter branch in the chipper shoot and it did not work very well either and was really rough ( you'd definitely need some gloves and a steady hand). On today i thought i would give it another shot at picking up leaves in the backyard, however the pulling mechanism to start came lose while attempting to start it and did not return to allow to try a start again. Thinking that i just needed to get the rope back on track...I removed the top cover and when I did a long tension wire shot out and completely unraveled. I had never been so frustated and only wished I would have read about this prior to the purchase. The sales person was so convincing...I was sure that I had made a good investment. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! i CANT RETURN THIS SOON ENOUGH!!!!
Well built machine, works well; hard.

Very hard to start! This unit was used for leaves, grass clippings and small twigs (which were fed into the chipper chute). The engine suddenly started to vibrate very badly and an experienced yard man showed me where the deck holding the engine had cracked all the way around the motor mount. Cost of repair would be much more than this unit is worth.

Great vac. only$199. Well constructed. The new model has a giant suction tube to suck out leaves in plantings, but it's 800 bucks more. So, I just blow every thing out first then go over it in the yard.
